We are a retreat with the fervent vision of creating a space where people can relax in a beautiful and inclusive environment.

In 2021, Charles Wang and Kate Liao founded the Morning Star Home, initiating a special sponsorship program for children with artificial limbs. By the end of 2022, they had assisted over 30 children with the fitting of prosthetics, all free of charge. In order to help disabled children better integrate into society, they launched China’s first inclusive camp during the 2021 Chinese Summer Holiday, where physically typical children and disabled children participated together. This initiative has now been successfully held for three years. Morning Star is coming to New Zealand over the summer holidays with 5 disabled children and 3 disabled adults, all with artificial limbs.
